All the stock-speed tests were carried out with the Corsair Dominator test kit with CAS of 6 and the other latencies set to 5-5-15 1T. Like the Eclipse, the X58 Pro won't allow a CAS latency of less than 6. The only X58 board we’ve seen that really pulled away from the pack in the single-threaded Everest test was the Foxconn Blood Rage. While not on a par with Foxconn’s Überclocker, the X58 Pro faired very well despite it being much cheaper than other boards we’ve seen: notably the Gigabyte UD4P that we have previously recommended.

In SiSoft’s Sandra multithreaded random memory latency tests, the X58 Pro was joint top with the Asus P6T Deluxe whereas, in Everest’s single-threaded memory latency test, the X58 Pro was the second slowest of the X58 boards we’ve seen thus far. More bad news was reported in the memory bandwidth department where the X58 Pro racked up the lowest raw number of any X58 board we’ve tested, if only by a small margin.
